Strings Program
Co-Directors: Tammy Kaye & Monica Vander Baan
The Strings program at WCS is a special adaptation of the Suzuki Method. The late Shinichi Suzuki, a Japanese violinist and educator, developed the Suzuki Method of instruction. He wanted to give the Japanese children something beautiful after World War II that would help them develop loving hearts. His belief is that everyone has the capacity to learn music and be musical.
The Christian Strings teachers here at WCS take this superior teaching method and transform it into excellent Christian pedagogy. The heart and mission of WCS Strings is to glorify God through music by working together to develop Christian character and gifts to joyfully serve others. In every phase of the child’s participation, from Pre-Twinkle though chamber orchestra, praising and serving God is the focus.
