Netsurfer Robotics - a new e-zine with lots of articles and links about robotics.
Hazardous Weather - from USA Today, this site includes links toofficial hazardous weather text alerts and graphics produced by the National Weather Service, plus information on all forms of dangerous weather.

DNA Learning Center - From Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory - a good source of information and news on genetics and DNA, it includes a fascinating image archive of the American Eugenics movement.
Transgenic Crops - From Colorado State University - an excellent introduction to genetically altered plants, including statistics, animations, and news.
Chemical Elements - A great site, with lots of good information, but really annoying banner ads.
Web Elements - Everything you ever wanted to know about the elements, and probably more. Includes, among many other things, a printable, up to the minute periodic table.
Los Alamos Periodic Table - Click on an element and get a brief profile of its history, sources, properties, uses, cost, and handling. Government site.
David's Whizzy Periodic Table - This one doesn't have all the elements but it's really fun!
Oceanography - From the Office of Naval Research, this site has lots of information, activities, and links about waves, tides, habitats, ocean life, and much more. Requires Flash.
The Last Word - A collection of over a thousand science questions and answers from New Scientist, a leading weekly science and technology magazine. You can submit an answer or post your own questions.
Science Snacks - Mini versions of the Exploratorium's exhibits you can do yourself. Try one!
Genomics Gateway - From Nature. This excellent site features articles, streaming videos, animations, downloadable booklets, an illustrated glossary and more.
Functional Genomics - From Science Magazine. Includes links to recent news, new and classic scholarly papers organized by topic, annotated links, biotech business resources, and Science's genome special issues.
Cells Alive - A fascinating site that explores cellular biology with live cams that show the growth of bacteria or cancer cells in real time, and colorful, animated exhibits like "The Anatomy of a Splinter" and "Apoptosis - When a Cell Commits Suicide."
Cornell University Math and Science Gateway - Great list of links, especially for high school students. Includes links to science magazines, newsletters and research articles.
Museum of Science, Boston - Almost as much fun as being there.
The Great Buildings Collection - You can search for a particular building, say the Taj Mahal or the Chartres Cathedral, and get photos and historical and architectural information about it, then, with free downloadable software, walk around and through a 3D model of it.
Top 100 Skyscrapers - A listing of the top 100 buildings based solely on structural height.
Fish Base - A global information system with all you ever wanted to know about fishes.
Biodiversity - An interactive site for younger students from the Natural History Museum in London.
Intelligent Design - from access research network, this site features research, student-authored papers, news, and links on the issues of evolution/intelligent design. They offer $5/page for accepted articles.
Meta-Efficient - "A guide to the most efficient things in the world."
Competitive Enterprise Institute A non-profit public policy organization that is concerned with environmental and other issues.
6th Grade Animal Sites
Animal Diversity - Probably the most comprehensive and well-organized of any of the animal sites. This site, from the University of Michigan Museum of Zoology, is searchable by common or scientific name, and often includes multiple pictures or videos. The information is written by college students. Please read and follow copyright restrictions.
Online Field Guides - A good place to start. This site, owned by the National Wildlife Federation, includes facts, pictures, and often links to articles about a large number of animals. It's searchable or you can browse by type of animal.
Especies Fact Sheet - Facts on many endangered animals througout the world
Seaworld Animal Information Database - This site includes lots of well-organized facts and pictures, but only on a few animals.
Web of Life - Looking for an unusual animal? Check out this site from the London Zoo. Brief but interesting information on many species.
Yahooligans Animals - links to information pictures, and soundfiles of many animals. Searchable or browse by type of animal.
World Wildlife Fund - Lots of information, especially on endangered species. Searchable and includes photo gallery.
Lucid Images Wildlife Photography - good source for pictures, the site is divided into four sections: Birds of North America, Mammals of North America, Scenic Places of North America, and Alaska
National Image Library - Public domain (that means you can copy them without asking permission) images of wildlife photographs
Endangered TV - An image gallery of endangered animals. These are free downloads.
Wildlife Conservation Society Sights and Sounds - This photo gallery showcases animals on display at the Bronx Zoo and WCS' four other wildlife parks in New York City.
