PreCalculus with Trigonometry
The unifying concept of this course is the function. Many facets of everyday life as well as the created world around us can be described by functions. Trigonometric functions are introduced in terms of the unit circle and the right triangle. Applications of circular triangle trigonometry are considered along with the periodic nature of trigonometric functions that enables students to mathematically model periodic data from the world around us. This course also includes a detailed study of a variety of functions, including quadratic, power, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic and logistic. This study brings a deep appreciation of the order and beauty of God’s creation and of God himself. Students will approach these functions graphically, numerically and analytically. A graphing calculator (TI-Nspire) is required.
