Academics

Whitinsville Christian High School is a four-year comprehensive program working closely with the home and church to prepare students for further education and work experiences. WCS offers a full academic curriculum at the high school level including Bible, business, computer science, English, history, math, science (biology, chemistry, and physics), social studies, art, music, and physical education.  Internet access is available in the classrooms, library, and computer lab.  Opportunities to participate in additional classes are now available through virtual high school classes.  In addition to academic requirements for graduation, high school students must participate in a service program each year. WCS graduates are accepted to a large number of different college and universities, and over 90% of our students go on to earn college degrees.

Arts

Imagination and creativity are the birthrights of humanity. Made in the image of God, our students reflect His beauty and glory when they create and perform art. Whitinsville Christian High School arts programs address the diverse needs of high school students in the areas of visual and performing arts.

An evening to celebrate the arts is an annual event that includes performances in drama and music as well as a large art exhibit representing the work of students from elementary through high school.

Visual Arts - The high school art curriculum offers students a wide choice of courses including photography, sculpture, and printmaking as well as trips to Boston and Providence and lectures by visiting artists.

Music - Our music programs are designed to help students develop their musical gifts to the praise and glory of God and for the enjoyment and inspiration of others. Choir and Band are electives for high school students. Our high school choir includes about 110 students, some of whom comprise a touring choir which has sung in the Worcester Centrum, Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Independence Mall in Philadelphia, and at the Lincoln Memorial.   Our strings program is well-known throughout America. We have three levels of orchestra plus an advanced chamber group. Approximately 45 of our more advanced students go on a concert tour every other year. Many WCS students participate in the District and All-State orchestras. Two have reached the All-Eastern level and one was a member of the National Honors Orchestra.

Drama - Drama is an extra-curricular activity at WCS. High school students have the opportunity to try out for two major dramatic performances each year. This past year, the high school drama performed "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and "The Music Man."
