site includes information on transcendentalist authors, roots and influences,
ideas, and literary criticism, as well as bibliographies and links. Searchable.
- The Moonlit Road
- A wonderful site where you can read or listen to ghost stories and folktales
of the American South. Enjoy.

- Read the full text of thousands of classics, both prose and poetry
- Page
by Page Books - Another site that allows you to read classics and
other public domain books.
- American
Treasures of the Library of Congress - A permanent exhibition including
items from Thomas Jefferson's personal library, such as original drafts of
the Gettysburg Address and notebooks that belonged to Walt Whitman. A great
site for those interested in American literature or American history

- The Cambridge History of English and American Literature. An 18-volume encyclopedia
indexed by author, chapter, and bibliographies.

- Visual
Thesaurus - displays the interrelationships between words and meanings
