Literature of the United States & Composition
Literature of the U.S. & Composition is a chronological survey of the literature that expresses the continually changing face of American life. Students will learn to recognize and analyze major themes and literary movements that have shaped United States culture. We will also discuss the religious and social changes that have made their mark on United States literature. Through journals and process writing, students will learn to make the rules of writing work for them and will experiment with a number of styles of writing. We will also address grammar, vocabulary, organization, structure and style.
Required- 5 credits **Junior Course
Prerequisite: English 10
Honors component offered.
