Elementary - Grades K-5
Our Elementary School currently has 207 students in grades K-5. We offer full-day kindergarten classes. Our caring Christian faculty are qualified professionals devoted to preparing students for service to God and their neighbors in every area of life. Elementary activities include student-led chapels, an annual Read-a-thon, and a summer reading program.
Academics
Our curriculum includes Bible, a phonics and skills based reading program, a hands-on math program, social studies, science, language arts, map skills, art, music, and physical education. Weekly library instruction is provided for all grades, and Spanish is offered in grades 3-5. We also have a discovery program for students with identified learning disabilities.
Arts
Elementary students receive a basic introduction to the history and making of art in weekly art classes. Music is part of each day in the classroom and students participate in weekly music classes. Many elementary students are involved in learning to play stringed instruments using the Suzuki method taught through the WCS Strings Program. All elementary students participate in a musical produced every other year.
Athletics
Youth hoop programs are offered in the winter for students in grades 1-5. Community basketball clinics are held at WCS throughout the summer. Watch our athletics page for more information once registration is offered.
