Drawing
This course is designed to develop students’ interest in drawing as a means of artistic expression. Areas of investigation include: perspective, portraiture,
figure drawing, and still life. Drawing techniques such as shading, cross-hatching, contour line and tonal values will be explored. Approaches to design, the use of composition, and the understanding of light on the subject are emphasized. The student also learns various approaches to creating art including: realism, abstraction, surrealism and other areas. Media include: pencil, charcoal, pastel marker, pen and ink, and paint as a drawing medium.
