Computer Applications I
Today’s students have grown up using computers. The computer has gained enormous popularity in businesses, schools and homes. For that reason, learning to use the computer efficiently is a primary skill required of all
students. This course will begin with a basic review of the keyboard and proper keyboarding techniques. It will continue with instruction in word processing with an emphasis on document formatting, introduce some desktop
publishing techniques and acquaint students with the basic capabilities of a spreadsheet program. This course also addresses safe use of the Internet.
Required Grade 9 - 2.5 credits
Prerequisite: Basic Keyboarding/Typing Proficiency (25 WPM)
