Whitinsville Christian School is very pleased to announce an additional program offered for the 2011-12 school year. There will be an Aftercare Program offered to WCS students in Grades K – 7 Aand will be offered every full day of school from 2:45 – 5:45 p.m. It will not be available on days when school dismisses at 11:30 a.m.
We have enlisted the services of Erica Engbers (WCS Middle School / High School Administrative Assistant) and Tara Haire (WCS School Nurse) as Program Leaders for the Aftercare Program. They are excited about providing high quality care for students after the school day. Several other adults have also expressed an interest in helping to staff the program. The program will be well structured with time for play, snack (provided by parent) time, and time for reading and homework. It is not a tutoring session but as time is available the staff will respond to questions students may have about their homework.
If you are interested in registering your child(ren) for the program please return the form along with the $10 registration fee by 29 July 2011. If your child will be participating on a regular or irregular basis, please register so that we have your information on file.
Drop-ins will be accepted; however after the second drop in you will be required to register your child. The cost for registered students is $5.00 per hour /child. The cost for drop-in (unregistered) students is $7.00 per hour / child based on half-hour increments.
Elementary school students (Grades K-5) who do not get picked up after the regular school day on time (by 3:00 p.m.) will be supervised by the Aftercare Program at a cost of $7.00 per hour/ child - billed at half-hour increments.
Parents of 6th and 7th grade students must register their children if Aftercare is needed prior to a scheduled extra-curricular activity. For example, if an athletic practice begins at 4:00 p.m., parents would need to register their child for the program and indicate that care is needed from 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. The cost for a registered student would be $5.00. The student would then be dismissed at 3:45 p.m. based on the parent consent on the registration form.
All costs for the program will be billed at half-hour increments. For example, a drop-in to the Aftercare Program ($7.00 per hour rate) will be billed a minimum of $3.50 if it is for 30 minutes or less. If your child is registered ($5.00 per hour rate) and is actually there for one-hour and 45 minutes, the billing will be for 2 hours or $10. Billing will appear on your monthly tuition statement.
