Advanced Literature & Composition (Honors)
This full-year Honors course focuses on the careful reading and critical analysis of selective works of imaginative literature. The course will include composition instruction with emphasis on literary analysis essays as well as practice in college application essays, reflective narratives, and argumentative essays. This course will prepare students for the AP English Literature and Composition Exam in May. A student who earns a grade of 3 or above on the AP Exam will be granted college credit at most colleges and universities throughout the United States.
Required/Elective - 5 credits **Senior Course
Prerequisite: Literature of the U.S. & Composition and recommendation of the English/Guidance Departments
