Physical Education 10
This course focuses on lifetime sports and recreation. The goal of the class is to acquaint students with a variety of leisure activities and sports which they could continue to participate in throughout their lives as a means of maintaining a minimal level of personal fitness. Students will also learn the social value of leisure activities and how participating for this reason may be different than competition. Basic rules, skills and strategies for each sport will be taught, leading to actual participation and/or competition. Class activities may include: archery, badminton, bowling, golf, tennis, volleyball, various lawn games and technical rock climbing. Emphasis is also placed on fair play and consideration for those whose skill level may be different than one's own. As Christians, we have opportunity to maintain our body's health through activities that can also be of social value in reaching out to our friends and coworkers to share the love of Christ.
