Open House for Retiring Staff

You are invited to an informal open house to be held in the Krull Memorial Auditorium at WCS in recognition of and appreciation for the years of dedicated service to WCS of several departing staff. Marcia Camp, librarian; Linda Johnson, 7-8 math teacher; Deb Koopman, Discovery reading teacher; and Carol Schaver, 3rd grade teacher, will be honored on Sat, May 31, between 3 and 5 pm. Plan now to attend.

Farewell Reception for the Kuders

After 27 years of service at Whitinsville Christian School, Franz and Joanne Kuder are saying goodbye to the WCS community. Please join us at a Farewell Reception to send them off with our thanks and best wishes for their next great adventure. The reception will be held on Sun, Jun. 1, 2-4pm at Pleasant Street Church, Whitinsville, MA. This event is open to the public: All family, friends, students and colleagues are welcome.

Treasures Donations

Donations for Treasures, the new thrift store, can be brought to the truck/van that is at the “little house” (at the end of the school driveway) every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:30-8am. Treasures hopes to open soon. Please continue to watch for further details.More information about Treasures.

Paper or plastic? Neither! Use a WCS GREEN shopping bag. They are durable, reusable, colorful, and display the name of WCS. Only $2.00 each. They can be purchased from the middle school students or at the Elementary School Office.

Area News

Summer Host Families Needed

Host families are needed to invest in the lives of Japanese children this summer. Labo, a non-formal educational organization, provides an integrated program of youth development, language learning, and cultural exploration for Japanese children and their families. It's a great opportunity to be God's light to these kids. The dates for hosting are July 25-August 20. For more information, contact Gina at 508 865-3421 or Cheryl Muzaca.

Choir Fest 2008

The annual Choir Fest will be held from July 7-11 at Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church on Goldthwaite Road, Whitinsville, MA. All children entering kindergarten though grade 8 are invited to attend. In the Footsteps of Paul

Except for Jesus, no person has shaped the history of Christianity so importantly as the apostle Paul. From persecutor to missionary, Paul’s actions and efforts have changed the lives of many, then and now.
An interdenominational tour of Greece and Turkey, In the Footsteps of Paul, is planned for November 2008. A no-obligation informational meeting will be held on Thu, May 15, at 7pm at Pleasant Street Church. Join us to hear about this wonderful 10-day trip that includes a 4-day island tour and promises to be a time of spiritual growth and many blessings. Apple Tree Arts

We are very excited to announce that the Whitinsville-based early childhood program Grace Notes is joining Apple Tree Arts, a non-profit 501c(3) community music school located in Grafton. We invite you to call us anytime at 508-839-4286 and to view our website to learn more about our summer programs in youth musical theater for Grades 1-10, early childhood music and movement classes from birth to age 5, keyboard classes for ages 5-8, and private music lessons.
