AP Calculus AB
This course introduces the basic concepts of calculus and enables students to study mathematical functions and the way they change. Calculus is an awesome tool that God has given to us to describe His world. The course covers the fundamentals of both differential and integral calculus, stressing both an intuitive understanding of the concepts and the applications of the concepts to solving problems. The TI-89 calculator will be provided to each student to use throughout the year. Calculus will meet five periods per week plus an additional half hour each week at a predetermined time (determined by the administration). Students enrolled in AP Calculus AB are required to take the Advanced Placement (AP) Exam in mid-May. A summer project is required to be completed before the school year begins.
Elective - 5 credits
Prerequisite: PreCalculus and Recommendation of Math/Guidance Departments.
